Bitcoin Micro-Fiction 002: Power Outage at the East Pacific Smart Contract Federation's Bitcoin Hash Power Bureau

002

On December 11, 3140 AD, a power outage occurred at the Bitcoin Hash Power Bureau of the East Pacific Smart Contract Federation. That day happened to be exactly 1,000 years after the last bitcoin was mined. The blackout lasted a full 7 hours, costing miners worldwide 24 BTC in lost bookkeeping revenue — 3% of the annual GDP of the West Pacific Feudal United Community.

Investigations found that the outage was caused by a hacker attack on the smart contract of the Entropy China Interstellar Power Dispatch System. The Cyber Defense Corps is still conducting further investigations.
